Perisher Blue and Game Creative Team up for the 2008 Snow Season
For the 2008 Australian snow season Game Creative and Perisher Blue have teamed up to take the snow to the snow goers before the goggles are even pulled down. Potential skiers and snowboarders can interact with Perisher Blue and start their season without even stepping foot on the mountain through fun and addictive online and mobile games.
Rather than simply using a generic ski run down a strip of snow, the game was designed to resemble a run down Perisher Blue's front valley.
Lift chairs, support posts, flags and buildings were made to look like the real thing. Even the trees have been illustrated to
resemble their real life counterparts, a significant factor as these
trees are unique to the Australian snow mountains.
Understanding the importance of these details, Game Creative went to work with it's illustrators to ensure the run could not be mistaken for anywhere else.
Players can select one of four players, two boarders and two skiers. Starting at Mid Station, you cross under the Quad chair then across to the famous Village 8. Your final destination is the Village 8 carousel, with your aim being to make sure you are positioned well in the lift line. The game takes a non-linear approach to casual gaming, with the player choosing their own path down the mountain without any particular pre-set trails or runs to abide by.
Perisher Blue's V8 Challenge is
available online as well as on your mobile. The mobile game is
distributed across the resort using the newly installed blue tooth
terminals. The game is also available for download on Game Creative's
own network, Thumb Doctor Games. The online version is also playable on the Perisher Blue website and you can Click here to play the online game.
